How I got my start in locksmithing

Before I became a locksmith I worked in hardware stores as a sale associate who rekeyed the locks that customers would buy from me. I worked at hardware stores for 8 years before I got the idea to become a locksmith. My favorite part of the job as a hardware sales associate was when I got to rekey the locks or build a new display item. I heard about a school of locksmithing in Phoenix, Arizona and I decided to enroll with the idea that I would someday start my own company after completing school. When I completed locksmith school I realized that I had more to learn and wanted to work for one of the larger locksmith companies in the valley for six months or so to learn the business first. On the job as a locksmith I excelled very quickly and worked my way up from the lowest man on the totem pole to the senior technician in record time. My six months quickly turned into seven years before I made the final decision to start my own company. In that time I became one of the most versatile locksmiths in the valley. I learned residential locks, commercial locks, automotive locks, safes, high security locks, access control, door closers, and more. I also learned that I was able to service locks that I had never seen before more efficiently than those who were familiar with them.

The launch of ACE Locksmith & Mobile Welding

After the many years of experience with the other locksmith company as their senior technician I realized that I could offer customers the best possible service for much lower pricing if I started my own mobile locksmith company. With the economy down I became more and more disappointed with the direction of the company I was working for. I left the company to start ACE Locksmith & Mobile Welding, which offers customers quality service with fast response time.

The mobile welding often goes hand in hand with the locksmithing when we service pool gates, pedestrian gates, or anything that requires a lock in an odd situation. This also comes in handy for fabricating custom parts for locks that need to be steel for security. I am a certified welder and have been welding just as long as I have been locksmithing. This helps us to offer one stop shopping for our customers who would normally have to hire a welder and a locksmith to have a lock installed on their side gate of their house, or on a community pool. The fact that we are a mobile service without a store location allows us to offer the lowest pricing in town because of our low overhead. We also pride ourselves on being honest. What you are quoted over the phone is what you will pay at time of service unless you decide to upgrade.
